Dear Feltman’s Family,
Here at Feltman’s, we have two Gold Star Mothers in our Family: Carol & Sue.
As parents now, we can’t imagine the pain of losing a child to combat or the invisible wounds of war.
The pain of being notified.
The pain of walking into the funeral.
The pain of the silence in your home.
The pain of the empty seat at the dinner table.
While we can’t imagine your pain, what we confidently understand is the joy you bring to us and our children.
The joy of being notified that you are coming over to babysit and save us.
The joy of when our kids see you walk in the door and scream in unison “Grandma” or “GaGa.”
The joy of the cacophony of chaotic noise as you play with the kids and sing the Disney classics like Annie’s “Hard Knock Life.”
The joy of watching you hold your grandchildren’s hands as they attempt to say grace around the dinner table, beginning with “Thank you God for this new day...”
And thank you God for making love abundant because while you’ll always hold love for the children you lost, we are eternally grateful for the love and joy you bring to us and our children.
