For those of you with young children that have been to Coney Island, you may have noticed Surf Playground at Surf Avenue and West 25th Street and the parking lot next to it. This spot has remained empty for years but it is finally receiving a major facelift courtesy of The Parks Department, which has secured funding to turn the area into an area for exercise and recreation after a year-long design process. Once the upgrades are complete, future visitors will find a synthetic turf field, a track for walking, fitness equipment for adults, a walking track for adults, and much more.
Surf Playground is just a couple of minutes west of Feltman’s of Coney Island on Surf Avenue. Once construction is complete, you can enjoy your Feltman’s hot dog and then burn off the calories over at the fitness area. Then again, you can always work out and then fuel the body by visiting Feltman’s after a hearty workout. Regardless of how you choose to go about it, the taste of Feltman’s will certainly put a smile on your face.
